Sounds of Summer: Good Girls

Well, this is a bit different from my usual music choice.

If you’ve been following my “Sounds of Summer” series up to this point, you might be asking, “R-M, you dig modern pop songs?” Yeah, it kinda feels a little too “Top 40” for me. I have my friend Maegan to thank for discovering LANY. That’s been the best part about getting to know their music: now Maegan and I have one more common interest to talk about!

LANY-2016

I’m laughing in the soft glow of my overhead desk light and shaking my head. I’m pretty sure that my discomfort comes from the fact that LANY resembles the stereotypical boy band a bit too much for my taste. But y’know what? Screw the labels. I’ve already embraced my own eclectic taste in music; after all, I love Hammock and Deftones almost equally. Plus, “Good Girls” is a simple, saccharine, and catchy tune about a rocky relationship. Sometimes good music doesn’t have to be any more profound than that.

Also, I just realized that LANY is LA to NY. Ahhhh, clever, guys!

Another announcement before you go: I will be uploading my fourth “Honest Bachelor’s Life” vlog entry this Saturday at 6:00 PM. Please stop by and check it out! I think that a lot of people in their 20s who are struggling to find the right calling will really relate to my newest video.

Until then, ladies and gents, have a great night! Feel free to let me know what you think of “Good Girls.”
